A straightforward estate with a clear will and few heirs might be concluded within several months. More complex matters, particularly those involving land, business interests, or disputes, will take longer. We keep you informed of realistic timelines from the start.

Can a will be contested in Thailand, and what grounds are there? +

Yes. Under Thai law, a will may be challenged on grounds including the testator's lack of capacity at the time of making the will, undue pressure from another party, failure to meet formal requirements such as correct witnessing, or fraud. Each matter is assessed on its own facts. We approach these situations carefully, exploring the circumstances fully before advising on whether formal proceedings are appropriate.

Yes. This is a common situation among families in the Chiang Mai region. Remote consultations are available for those who cannot travel to our office.

What does your fee structure look like? +

Our fees vary by service. Heir identification and verification begins at ฿2,500, will contest and validity counsel begins at ฿6,100, and multi-generational estate counsel begins at ฿7,800. For more complex engagements we provide a clear written estimate before any work begins. We do not add unexpected charges, and we discuss scope openly at the outset.

All information shared with our firm is held in strict confidence under professional legal obligations. Family records, asset details, and personal histories are never shared outside the firm without your express consent. We treat the details of every client's situation with the same care we would wish for our own.
